Your sauna is a special place where you relax and renew. Adding those finishing touches go a long way toward reminding you of this every time you enter the sauna. Here is a little photo sampling of some of those details — for the rest, just take the tour.
The door casement adds a gateway feel. A bamboo roll-up blind with metal hardware holds up to the heat rather well.
A dimmer light switch is essential, with an unfinished wood switchplate of course. Because the switch itself has plastic parts, install it low to prevent overheating (it's a bit high in this sauna) or outside the sauna.
The heater fence is a critical safety feature. The "duckboard" decking below simply rests on what is typically a concrete floor.
At some point your thermostat probe has to enter the sauna up near the ceiling. Note also the simple square moulding applied throughout.
A bit of decking outside the sauna is nice to stand on when taking a break — this is nice even with an indoor sauna.
